Dr Jaideep Baruah

Director, Assam Science and Technology and environment center  Science Technology and Climate Change, Government of Assam.

Dr. Baruah has been instrumental in Setting up and heading the Climate Cell in ASTEC since 2010, coordinating various capacity building and awareness programmes through Panchayati Raj Institutes, College Environment and Climate Cells set up by ASTEC, setting up of Eco-Clubs in Assam.

He prepared the first dtaft of State Action Plan on Climate Change through several public consultations and also started a new programme titled, “Chief Minister’s Climate Resilient Village Fellowships” through which 100 fellows will work in as many villages to prepare strategy for climate resilience.
